21-25 September 2026
Fiera Bologna
Hall 19

Promoted by Assoposa and curated by INDEXLAB, The_Game_ technology area at CERSAIE 2026 showcases emerging digital processes for the ceramic sector through three full-scale demonstrators.

Augmented and Virtual Reality, computational design, digital acquisition, and robotics are integrated into experimental workflows addressing installation, product experience, and advanced manufacturing.

Augmented Installation

An integrated digital system for the installation of ceramic elements of different sizes, geometries, and finishes. Digital surveying captures existing surfaces and generates installation layouts and cutting geometries. Projection transfers cutting profiles directly onto the material, enhancing manual marking, while Augmented Reality identifies each element and guides its correct positioning in space.

Immersive Stargate

A physical portal conceived as an experiential threshold between physical and digital space. Wearing a mixed-reality headset, users pass through the Stargate into a full-scale digital environment, where ceramic applications can be explored and configured by selecting different collections, formats, and grout layouts through gesture-based interaction.

Human–Robot Collaboration

A robotic system that assists the operator in handling and cutting ceramic slabs into customized pieces. Two collaborative robotic arms support the preparation of elements with different dimensions, angles, and special cuts, combining robotic precision with human decision-making to produce complex pieces ready for installation.

The Interactive Game

The interactive mixed-reality game invites visitors to build structures from ceramic pieces. Through an AR headset, these structures become a parkour for playful digital tile workers who climb, rest, or get stuck as the terrain changes. Visitors can intervene by adding pieces and altering their paths. By observing digital figures interact with the ceramics, participants explore the relationship between physical materials, digital information, and design.
