Designing the Next Objects for Additive Manufacturing
The Call for Ideas has concluded, and we are pleased to present the four winning projects selected for their originality, design quality, and innovative use of additive manufacturing technologies.
Over the course of the initiative, designers, architects, engineers, students, makers, and innovators were invited to imagine products conceived specifically for 3D printing, exploring new possibilities in sustainability, customization, advanced geometries, material efficiency, and distributed production.
The four selected concepts were transformed into physical prototypes during PLAST 2026, held from June 9–12, within the 3D Plast Lab, using some of the most advanced 3D printing technologies, materials, and manufacturing systems available today.
The winning teams also presented their projects to the public during two dedicated sessions:
June 9, 2026 – Opening Session of the 3D Plast Lab, where the teams introduced their concepts to the audience, both in person and remotely.
June 12, 2026 – Final Event, featuring in-depth presentations of the projects, the design process, and the prototyping results.
From idea to prototype, these projects demonstrate how additive manufacturing is shaping the next generation of products, processes, and design cultures.
